Abstract
This paper proposed a novel electromagnetism-like method for solving the constrained optimization problems. A new technique was adopted to transform the constrained optimization problems to an unconstrained optimization model with bound constrained. The modified method adopted the attraction-mechanism of the electromagnetism theory to encourage the particles to converge to its vicinal attractive valleys. Compared with the existing algorithms, numerical results on five benchmark function demonstrated that the proposed algorithm was competitive for the constrained optimization problems.
