Zusammenfassung
Es gibt eine mit Regelmäßigkeit und Vehemenz in den Massenmedien geführte Diskussion darüber, ob die mediale Darstellung so genannter “Magermodels” insbesondere für junge Frauen als eine Art Vorbild dienen könnte und spezifische Wirkungen nach sich zöge, etwa negative Körperbilder, Magersucht oder Anorexie. Die Debatte um diese oft als Tatsache gehandelte Frage und um mögliche (auch politische) Abhilfe fand erneut ihren Höhepunkt, als die Jury der Pro7-Sendung Germany's Next Topmodeleiner für den Normalbürger wohl als schlank geltenden Teilnehmerin erklärte, sie sei zu dick. Und so fragten ein weiteres Mal Öffentlichkeit und Politik den Models und ihren Auftraggebern Sommerlöcher in den Bauch, ob das denn so sein müsse und nicht auch anders gehe.
