Zusammenfassung
Dieser Beitrag betrachtet zunächst das Verhältnis von grafischer Darstellung und Dargestelltem mit dem Schwerpunkt auf computergenerierten Bildern räumlicher Szenen. Für die tastende Wahrnehmung solcher Bilder müssen diese schon im Entwurfsprozeß auf die nicht-visuelle Rezeptionsmodalität abgestimmt werden. Das heißt, daß nicht Licht(-reflexion) das Aussehen des Bildes bestimmt, sondern Kraft (Reibung, Deformation). Den Kern dieses Beitrags bildet die Beschreibung eines haptischen Renderers, der Bilder räumlicher Gegenstände für die tastende Wahrnehmung — insbesondere durch Blinde — erstellt. Da Bilder tastend anders als sehend wahrgenommen werden, müssen Interaktionsmechanismen und -Geräte entwickelt werden, die anschließend dargestellt werden. Schließlich werden die gefundenen Resultate bewertet und ihr Nutzen auch für die Mensch-Computer-Interaktion Nicht-Blinder gezeigt.
