Abstract
This article focuses on the observational aspects of Galactic Black Hole (GBH) sources, since the first confirmation of ‘astrophysical’ BH by UHURU Satellite, followed by discovery of X-ray emission from Cygnus X-1 with sounding rocket experiments. Most of the GBH sources show rich ‘spectro-temporal’ variabilities as observed by several instruments on-board space-based observatories. We present a few interesting observational results to understand the accretion dynamics around a BH. We also highlight the importance of a spectro-temporal-polarimetric mission to probe the extreme gravity region of BH sources.

Acknowledgements
The author would like to express sincerest gratitude to Sandip K. Chakrabarti for his constant encouragement, and setting ambitious goals during Ph.D. work, which paved the way to continue research in the fascinating world of astronomy. This article is based on the collaborative works carried out over the years with Dipak Debnath, Radhika D., Nirmal Iyer and Sreehari H.—special thanks to all of them. The author also personally thanks all the IMAP team members towards the contribution for writing the proposal.
