Postpartum Women’s Quality of Life Questionnaire (PQOL) is a specific instrument for measuring quality of life (QOL) of postpartum women, which included 40 items referring to Child Care, Physical Function, Psychological Function, and Social Support. Being different from generic measures, such as the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale, PQOL emphasizes women’s experience after delivery. The questionnaire was developed by Suizan Zhou in China (2009).
Description
With the increasing recognition of postnatal morbidity, the tool, especially to measure the women’s QOL, was quite important. Symon (2002) designed the first specific QOL scale for postpartum women, the Mother-Generated Index (MGI). MGI is an open subjective self-administered scale which allows the mother to determine both content and scoring.
