Abstract

To ensure the availability of medical equipment in a healthcare institution, proper management is of vital importance. One tool that simplifies this task is a computerized maintenance management system. When implementing said system, an institution can opt for either paid or free options, but these do not always meet its particular needs. A solution to this is the development of in-house software. This paper presents the design and development of a medical equipment maintenance management system based on the Microsoft Access database management system. Its limitations are discussed and areas for improvement are considered.
