Nursing Practice during COVID-19: Preparation, Education and Support

Abstract

Students in the nursing profession in some countries, including Spain, have offered to help during the current COVID-19 pandemic health crisis. However, it is unclear what role these students have played, how well they are prepared to deal with the crisis, and where their education and preparation can be enhanced. Because of the worldwide spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the World Health Organization has declared a pandemic. It is impossible to overstate the harm that the COVID-19 pandemic will cause to populations and healthcare systems. The outbreak is a serious threat to public health on a global scale, and it may persist for some time. As the COVID-19 crisis continues to spread, more and more medical professionals from all over the world are taking action. They play an important part, are doing fantastic work, and are up against formidable obstacles. The role of healthcare workers in this crisis cannot be overstated, and it is crucial that we understand their plight.
