Abstract
The criminal justice system plays a crucial role in society, as it ensures public safety, administers justice, and maintains order. However, mounting evidence has exposed deep-seated flaws and inequities within this system. In order to create a fair and effective system, comprehensive policy reform is imperative. This chapter aims to explore the urgent need for policy reform in the criminal justice system, focusing on addressing systemic issues, such as racial bias and harsh sentencing policies. Furthermore, we will examine promising policy initiatives and their potential to transform the justice system, promoting fairness, equity, and rehabilitation. By critically analyzing these issues and advocating for transformative change, we can strive toward a future where the criminal justice system provides true justice, rehabilitation, and societal healing for all.
