Abstract

Increases in the number of weight reduction surgical procedures over the last two decades have led to more requests for body contouring to address the deformities of weight loss. While women have traditionally represented the majority of patients undergoing post-bariatric body contouring procedures, recently men have been having these procedures with greater frequency. While outcomes following post-weight loss body contouring in men are usually very gratifying, complications are likely to be more frequent. They require slightly different protocols for prevention and management.
