Zusammenfassung
Positive Psychologie Interventionen haben in den letzten Jahrzehnten an Beliebtheit gewonnen und werden heutzutage zunehmend eingesetzt, um die Entwicklung im mittleren und höheren Alter zu fördern. Das vorliegende Kapitel fasst die Ziele des Handbuchs zusammen und zeigt auf, wie die verschiedenen Kapitel Antworten auf die wichtigsten Entwicklungsfragen liefern, die das vorliegende Handbuch geleitet haben. Anschließend diskutiere ich, wie zukünftige Forschung unser Verständnis über die Anwendung von Prinzipien der Positiven Psychologie zur Förderung der Entwicklung in allen Lebensbereichen (d. h., kognitive, emotionale, soziale, physische, Persönlichkeit) bei mittelalten und älteren Individuen verbessern kann. Abschließend skizziere ich einige Ideen zur praktischen Nutzung des Handbuchs, wie zum Beispiel für wen es hilfreich ist und wie es genutzt werden kann.
