Zusammenfassung
Sexualität stellt oft ein Tabuthema im mittleren und insbesondere im höheren Alter dar. Eine erfüllte Sexualität ist jedoch ein Bestandteil des positiven Alterns und ist wichtig für die Entwicklung in allen Lebensbereichen (d. h. kognitive, emotionale, soziale, physische, Persönlichkeit). In diesem Kapitel werde ich die Merkmale der Sexualität im mittleren und höheren Alter diskutieren, die Bedeutung einer erfüllten Sexualität bei mittelalten und älteren Menschen erforschen und die Faktoren untersuchen, die aus der Sicht der positiven Psychologie eine Rolle spielen, um diese zu erreichen. In diesem Zusammenhang werde ich Konzepte wie erfüllte Sexualität, sexuelles Wohlbefinden und sexuelle Lebensqualität betrachten, wie diese gemessen werden können sowie die Faktoren, die diese im mittleren und höheren Alter fördern oder behindern. Außerdem werde ich die Verbindungen zwischen Sexualität und persönlichem Wachstum in allen Lebensbereichen betrachten, um zu veranschaulichen, wie eine gesunde Sexualität zur Entwicklung im mittleren und höheren Alter beitragen kann. Schließlich werde ich die Potenziale und Fallstricke des Online-Datings im höheren Alter untersuchen und wie Prinzipien der positiven Psychologie und Entwicklungsressourcen angewendet werden können, um eine erfüllte Sexualität bei mittelalten und älteren Erwachsenen zu fördern. Die Gesundheitskommunikation in Bezug auf Sexualität im mittleren und höheren Alter wird ebenfalls angesprochen.
