Abstract
The Data Governance landscape is flooded with tools due to growing demand. Technology aids in tasks like data integration, security, and compliance. The primary goal is to shift organizational culture toward data-driven decision-making. This chapter covers the essential functionalities of Data Governance Tools, emphasizing their role in uniting business and tech teams and enabling Chief Data Officers to showcase data’s impact on the organization. It discusses 12 technology features for becoming data-driven in the areas of Scan, Manage, and Share. The following areas (which have been conveniently illustrated by means of examples from real companies through the chapters) are pivotal for organizations initiating Data Governance, ensuring structured and sustainable data management:
-
Flexible Operating Model: Data Governance tools should adapt to an organization’s structure.
-

-
Critical Data Elements (CDEs): These tools aid in identifying CDEs by linking business and technical metadata.
-
