Abstract

The chapter begins with a brief acknowledgement that higher education has a different relationship with disabled people from different backgrounds. For example, those marginalised by mobility have faced different obstacles to those marginalised by sensory or neurodiversity. The chapter highlights how people disabled by different factors have had different experiences with being excluded, being allowed into the space, and being included with adequate support. The chapter also acknowledges that while universities are dedicated to the inclusion of disabled people into their spaces, and steps are being taken to further enact this change, many areas of improvement still clearly exist that must be addressed.
