Principles of Guaranteed Reliability Provision for Agricultural Equipment

Abstract

The paper proposes the principle for providing a guaranteed reliability of metal parts. This principle consists in manufacturing the parts with a guaranteed reliability. The research provided has established that each batch of metals and alloys (used to make the parts) shall be subject to preliminary studies and tests for defining the actual physical and mechanical properties with the confirmation of compliance with regulatory requirements. Such data are collected on the basis of the results of metallographic studies and tests of the part mechanical properties. We showed the results of metallographic and phase analysis of the source metals shall be used to calibrate non-destructive testing devices. Calibration operations are conducted to establish the codes corresponding to the number of flaws detected by the metallographic method in the sections of each equipment part. In this case, 2 codes can be obtained. One is used for a minimum permitted number of flaws that do not affect the guaranteed reliability and assigned a code “acceptable”. The code “not acceptable” is assigned to all other cross-section structures where the number of flaws exceeds the minimum permitted number of flaws in the cross-section structure of parts. The identification of parts with a guaranteed reliability is conducted with a probability of 0.97…0.99, and the guaranteed reliability of products is estimated with a probability of 0.95…0.96. These probabilities characterize methodological and metrological errors that are associated with the conventional measurement methods in the cross-section structure of agricultural equipment .
