Abstract

In order to clarify the competitiveness of LNG tank container serving the regions along the Yangtze River, and guide the layout scale of LNG terminals, based on the definition of LNG tank container, analyzed the current situation and the role of LNG tank storage in China. This paper demonstrated the reasonable ship types of LNG bulk carriers and LNG tank carriers on the Yangtze River trunk line, constructed the demonstration model of LNG multi-mode transportation organization on the Yangtze River trunk line, calculated the economy of LNG tank storage and transportation, and forecasted the LNG market scale and LNG tank market scale along the Yangtze River. The research results show that, the economy of the land and water multimodal transport of LNG tank container is equivalent to that of the traditional land and water transport mode of LNG carriers, and the maximum transfer volume of LNG tanks can reach 3.68 million tons in 2035, equivalent to about 216000 FEUs.
