Abstract

In creating a manifesto for BioCities, this book proposes that a city acting as a nature-based socio-ecological system will also be building resilience to climate change and other stresses and risks (Biggs et al. 2015). This thinking has been adapted into four basic principles for a BioCity (Fig. 1).
