Abstract
Transformational pastoral leadership is needed in the local church today to help the followers of Christ experience a renewal of their minds that will lead them into a transformational experience that will enable them to achieve all God has called them to. Without a transformational experience, the members of the local church will never have a chance to live in the fullness of their God-given destiny, and if the people of the local church are not living out their God-given destiny, the local church will become dormant, unable to fulfill the mission left to it by Christ. Through an examination of Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi it can be seen the apostle promoted the belief that transformation was both a needed experience and an ongoing experience. The same is true for the members of every local church today, regardless of denominational affiliation. Therefore, pastoral leaders must seek to be transformational in their leadership practices.
