Abstract

Technical condition of transport means is very important from the point of view of the safety of the transport processes implementation. It is extremely important, especially in the case of air transport means. Any failures and malfunctions can have tragic consequences, as was recognized early in the development of aviation. To date, detailed procedures for inspections and repairs have been developed, but according to the authors of this work, there is still room for further solutions that can positively affect the safety of the implementation of tasks in this branch of transport.

The article presents the preliminary results of work on the development of a system concept related to the determination of the technical condition of an aircraft piston engine. The research is aimed at determining the changes in vibroacoustic signals generated by the propulsion unit, being in a state defined as efficient as well as with simulated malfunctions.
