Abstract
The industrial sector, also called secondary sector, is in charge of transforming materials into goods. An important workforce is employed in the industrial sector not only in modern industrial countries, but in all modern societies. Since many of these jobs entail working under wet conditions, heat, or with hazardous chemicals, both irritant and allergic occupational contact dermatitis are of utmost importance. However, the heterogenicity of the industrial sector involves exposure to a variable diversity of irritants and sensitizers, which may hamper both the diagnosis and therapeutic approach, and pose a significant defy in the uniformization of regulatory policies and surveillance. Workplace assessment, early diagnosis and prevention, and establishing early preventive measures are essential for the management of industrial occupational contact dermatitis.
