Abstract
Southern Africa is at the southernmost part of the African continent, and it is characterized by internal and international labor migration whose history goes way back to the seventeenth century. Internal migration is the movement of people within national borders of a country, while international migration occurs when people move across international borders. This entry will state very briefly about internal migration; but its focus is on contemporary international migration.
