Abstract
Although many teacher education programs around the world are currently undergoing a shift to a multilingual orientation, it is often done on a trial-and-error basis as expertise in this area at the tertiary level is still lacking. This chapter proposes ways in which MADE can be integrated into preservice teacher education curricula, as well as professional development opportunities for in-service teachers, to strengthen the focus on multilingualism by providing a uniform, research-based approach to education for all learners.
