Abstract
Supervising field experience is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on the field of behavior analysis. The quality of supervision you provide your supervisee influences the effectiveness of the program they implement with their current and future clients. Although the supervision process involves a number of instructional strategies, none are more valuable than the delivery of performance feedback. Performance feedback involves sharing performance data with your supervisee, praising their correct responses, and correcting their errors. When delivering feedback, you are to provide a rationale for changing incorrect performance and provide instruction, demonstration, and modeling on how to do so. Performance feedback is a multistep process that ends with giving your supervisee the opportunity to role-play and ask clarifying questions. This chapter explores best practices for delivering performance feedback and helpful advice for ensuring performance feedback is a welcomed and enjoyable process for both you and your supervisees.
