Abstract
Improving the output performance and energy utilization efficiency of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is top priority for strengthening the practical application ability of TENG in self-powered supply systems. However, only by optimizing the inherent material or structural properties of TENG, the output effect improvement is very limited. Herein, this chapter discusses some effective solutions to improve the output performance and energy utilization efficiency of TENG by introducing additional electronic components and appropriate electronic circuit design. In terms of improving the output performance of TENG, charge excitation technology directionally injects the charge generated by triboelectrification into the electrode of TENG, resulting in the output multiplication effect. In terms of elevating the output energy utilization efficiency of TENG, energy management plays an important role in energy conversion between TENG and external electronic equipment and greatly reduces the energy loss in the energy supply process of TENG. This chapter gives an overview of the electronic circuit design for TENG, which is of great value to the improvement of the output performance and energy utilization efficiency of TENG so as to expand the application range of TENG and accelerate its commercialization.
