Abstract
When you begin your research project, data collection may not be the focus of your plan as you craft your study design using a theoretical or applied motivation for the work. Once the research begins, however, you will quickly discover that data collection becomes critical to study success. Develo** approaches for data collection may even become the focus of the research study itself, as you confront data collection challenges in the healthcare context. Gathering clinical and other data in healthcare settings can present many practical and ethical challenges, as well as unexpected opportunities.
