Abstract

We present the case of a 26-year-old male laborer, who sustained a high-energy, intra-articular distal radius and ulna styloid fracture. He developed subsidence and loss of fixation after index open reduction and internal fixation with a volar locking plate construct and was referred for revision surgery. Given a history of new onset seizure disorder and disuse osteopenia 6 weeks after the original injury, we performed revision ORIF via a volar approach utilizing fragment-specific fixation and augmentation of the construct with a dorsal bridge plate (DBP).
