Definition
Governance and local community’s participation refers to the citizens’ capacity of engaging in public management affairs not merely through participating in voting and other democratic-based processes which keep policymakers accountable to the public interest, but, more significantly, by taking part in decision-making that would ultimately respond more proactively to citizen concerns.
Introduction
The most powerful force propelling the Governance paradigm forward is citizen participation, which amounts to a significant hosting of new emerging consultative systems and practices.
