Abstract
Medium-depth chemical peels remain an excellent choice for reducing actinic keratosis and improving sun-damaged skin of the face, neck, chest, and arms. As compared to other treatments, such as prescription medications and photodynamic therapy, chemical peeling enjoys benefits of lower costs and a single application when used in the correct patient. Being in use for the past several decades, the combination of Jessner’s solution and 25–35% trichloroacetic acid medium-depth peel remains the most popular. Several contraindications do exist, and patient selection and application technique are critical to achieve good outcomes and avoid complications.
