Abstract

With the first introduction of sliding advancement genioplasty (from 1942), several indications have been proposed for chin augmentation. These techniques are most commonly used for cases that have a small, narrow, or retracted chin. In this chapter, by reviewing a variety of techniques, we briefly evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each technique, and by examining a few cases, we attempt to gain a general understanding of these techniques and their indications.
