Abstract
If you have been patient and reading the chapters in order, and you have the equipment to operate in Camera Only or Camera and Telescope mode, you should now be ready to conduct your first astrophotography session. Chapters 12 through 20 will provide specifics on photographing the different types of astronomical objects using these modes. This chapter addresses the necessary considerations you need to take into account in order to plan for and conduct a successful astrophotography (or viewing) session.
