Definition

Ischemic heart disease (IHD) is the most common disease in the geriatric population, with a tendency to become younger. It refers to a group of clinical symptoms caused by an imbalance between blood oxygen supply and demand for the cardiomyocytes. Due to insufficient myocardial blood supply, patients can manifest chest tightness, chest pain, and palpitation. Serious ischemic could induce a life-threatening malignant arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, and sudden death, becoming the leading mortality.
