Abstract

The electronic structures of the organic conductors and superconductors are characterized by the low-dimensionality and the sensitivity to externally applied stresses. The restricted dimensionality is inherent to the molecular assembly, where the bonding between the molecules is highly anisotropic. To materialize the organic conductors, the planar structures are adequate to stabilize the π electrons within constituent molecules.
