Abstract
This chapter explores new research and developments in the area of human-computer interaction. The fundamental goal of HCI research is to create approaches that will improve people’s ability to communicate with machines and make them better and more natural. The use of gadgets for HCI, such as keyboards and mice, reduces the interpretability and naturalness of the interface by creating a significant barrier between the user and the computer. With the rise of pervasive computing, user-computer interaction is no longer restricted to keyboard and mouse interactions. The straight use of hands as input, instead of typical message interfacing through elements user interfaces, is an appealing way to offer more natural human-computer interactions.
