Abstract
Everybody knows that most countries don’t allow for organizations to reject job applicants for their skin color or religious belief. The reasons are easy to understand.

The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) “regulates the processing by an individual, a company or an organisation of personal data relating to individuals in the EU” (EU Commission, 2019).

This is one of the laws that made it difficult for globally operating organizations to use standardized software and central data storage across the globe: Data captured on Russian citizens has to be registered and stored in Russia before a copy can be sent to another repository outside Russia.
