Abstract
In this chapter we examine how membranes are made. First, the individual protein and lipid components must be synthesized, and then they must be delivered to their final destination. Considering all the distinct membranes within a typical eukaryotic cell, this is a prodigious task, requiring highly accurate and remarkable mechanisms.
