Abstract
(1) Cell fusion studies have shown that β-adrenergic receptors concerned in adenylate cyclase (AC) activation can move from one cell to another. (2) If agonists such as protein hormones are joined to a large rigid carrier molecule such as a virus, they may exhibit superpotency that reflects superaffinity. (3) Catecholamine desensitization as studied with turkey erythrocytes is due to a regulatory defect at the level of nucleotide regulatory proteins (Ns -protein J. In general this article concerns some interactions of the hormone receptor-N-protein -AC complex.
