Abstract
The development of new equipment and machines for heavy duty service demands the development of new bearing materials capable of service at high loads and sliding speeds. One of the types of service of highly loaded friction elements is the applica tion as a sliding pair of raw, thermally nontreated metallic surfaces. Another type of application is service under conditions of boundary lubrication. This mode of operation is the result of increased loads and sliding velocities.
