Abstract
Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) has gained acceptance as a treatment for diabetic patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).(1,2) It is known that diabetic patients have lower survival rates than nondiabetic patients with ESRD, regardless of the treatment modality.(3) However, within the diabetic ESRD population, risk factors for survival have been studied only in hemodialysis patients.(4) Our study was undertaken to determine risk factors using the Cox proportional hazards model for insulin-dependent diabetic patients starting CAPD.
