Abstract

The mixed surfactant solutions are characterized by using the following probes: tetracyanoquinodimethane, benzoylacetoanilide, sodium-(p-sulfonatophenylazo-1-naphthol-2-sulfonate), and 8-anilino-naphthalene sulfonic ammonium salt. These probes are classified into three categories as follows: Type(l)— the probes which are applicable to both nonionic and ionic surfactants; Type(2)—the probes which are applicable as Type(1), but show a considerable difference between two kinds of surfactants; and Type(3)— the probes which are applicable to nonionic, but not to ionic surfactants.
