Abstract
The focus of this chapter is the analysis of tabulated data. Although the measurements could be numerical, the tables summarize only the counts along the levels of two or more crossed factors according to which the data are tabulated. In this text, we go beyond the traditional coverage and discuss topics such as three-dimensional tables, multiple tables (Mantel–Haenszel theory), paired tables (McNemar test), and risk theory (risk differences, relative risk, and odds ratios) for paired tables. The risk theory for ordinary (unpaired) tables was already discussed in Chap. 10 in the context of comparing two population proportions.
