Abstract

Ontology Integration plays a key role in information integration systems, especially in the semi-structured information integration systems. This paper develops an ontology integration mechanism which is based on the complex semantic map** to avoid the insufficient of simple and direct semantic map**. It introduces an ontology-based extension to the XML query algebra at first, and discusses the ontology-based query mechanism, which includes ontology integration procedures and XML query rewriting mechanism secondly.
