Hybrid Estimation of Complex Systems

Part of the book series: Lecture Notes in Control and Information Science ((LNCIS,volume 319))

Abstract

Whenever we automate a complex physical artifact it is essential to know its operational state at each time. However, it is not always possible or desirable to measure all physical entities that determine the state of the system. As a consequence, we have to estimate the state, given some (noisy) measurements and the model of the system under investigation.
