About the editors

Dr. **aoli Chu received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Yantai University in 1996 and his M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree in applied chemistry from the Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP) in 1999 and 2004, respectively. He is currently the director of a research group on spectroscopy and Chemometrics in Analytical Research Department at the RIPP. His research interests include the research and applications of molecular spectroscopy (UV-visible, infrared, near infrared and Raman) combined with Chemometrics methods for petroleum and petrochemicals. He has applied for more than 40 invention patents; over 30 patents have realized industrialization, and has authored several books. He acted as the guest editor of the special issue of Journal of Near Infrared Spectroscopy. He has been very active in the China Spectroscopy Analysis Community, and organized the first Chinese National Near Infrared Spectroscopy Conference in 2006, co-organized the 2nd Asian Spectroscopy Symposium in 2009 and the 6th Asian Spectroscopy Symposium in 2018.

Dr. Longhai Guo obtained his Ph.D. Degree in KwanseiGakuin University in 2011 and focused on crystallization of polymer materials using spectroscopy and chemometrics. Then, He started to work in Bei**g University of Chemical Technology as a postdoctor from 2012 to 2014 and as associated professor from 2015 to present, focusing on synthesis and application of waterborne polymers. His research interests include functional waterborne polymers and controlling on polymerization process using on-line spectroscopy. He has published over 40 research articles and 6 patents.

Dr. Yue Huang received his Ph.D. degree from the China Agricultural University in 2012. During 2012-2016, he worked at Bei**g R&D Centre of China Tobacco on food quality control. Since 2018, he started to work at China Agricultural University as an associate professor of food safety and nutrition. His researchinterest focuses on the applications of spectral analysis, hyperspectral imaging, and nondestructive detection on foods. He has published over 50 refereed articles. He is the editorial board member of Food Research and Development (Chinese Journal).

Dr. Yuan Hongfu received his B.S degree in chemistry from Shandong University in 1982,and Ph. D. degree in Chemistry from Research Institute of Petroleum Processing in 1994. He is currently a professor in Bei**g University of Chemical Engineering. His research interest is the R&D of spectroscopy-based process analysis technology, including multivariate analysis methods, instrumentation and application in fields of petrochemical industry, electricity, agriculture, pharmaceutical, food, and fabrics. He has published more than 100 scientific papers. He is the Chairman of the Near Infrared Spectroscopic Branch of the China Institute of Instrumentation, the Chief Scientific propaganda Expert in the fieldof Chemical-Spectral Analysis of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, a member of the National Instrument Analysis and Testing Standardization Technical Committee(SAC/TC481), a member of the editorial board of journal of spectroscopic and spectral analysis, and a national representative of the Asian Near-Infrared Spectroscopic Society.
