Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund

Abstract

Background

For the replacement of single missing teeth various treatment options are existing. In adolescents quite a number of conventional methods, such as fixed dental prostheses or dental implants, are only applicable to a limited extend.

Method

Metal-, ceramic-, and fiber-free composite cantilever attachments can be classified as alternative treatment option to conventional methods and will be described in detail in this article.

Conclusions

Today a minimally invasive replacement of single missing teeth by the use of direct techniques in adolescents is, amongst others, a considerable treatment option. Further clinical studies are needed to show, if this treatment option can be recommended with regard to long-term survival.
