Directions for Reducing Chemical Heterogeneity of Continually Cast Pipe Blank

  • Published:
Steel in Translation Aims and scope

Abstract

As a result of studying the heredity of the relationship between the chemical heterogeneity of seamless pipes and continuously cast billets, it was established that the key direction for stabilizing the composition and properties of finished metal products is to reduce the level of chemical heterogeneity of the cast metal. Based on the analysis of specially conducted studies, the possibility of significantly reducing the chemical heterogeneity of continuously cast billets by optimizing the technology of out-of-furnace processing and steel casting was established.
