Abstract
The title compound was synthesized by reaction of 1,4-benzodioxane-2-carbohydrazide with phenyl isothiocyanate, followed by cyclization of the N-phenylthiosemicarbazide thus formed in the presence of alkali. 5-(1,4-Benzodioxan-2-yl)-4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol reacted with N-aryl(alkyl)-2-chloroacetoamides to give the corresponding S-substituted derivatives, and its Mannich condensation with piperidine and morpholine afforded 1-aminomethyl-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiones. The synthesized compounds were screened for antihypoxic activity.
