Abstract

The first study of ecological and populational changes in the species richness and diversity of parasitic communities of European perch Perca fluviatilis (L. 1758) during the transformation of biota of the Boguchanskoe Reservoir is presented. In 2012, the parasite fauna was very diverse, and the trematode metacercariae prevailed. In 2014, an abrupt loss of the parasite species diversity was registered, evidencing the nearly absent role of the benthos in perch ethology. After the reservoir was filled in 2016–2019, the species composition of parasites in perch changed notably; in particular, the diversity and prevalence of parasitic infusoria increased. Helminths involving planktonic organisms in the life cycle (Proteocephalus percae, Camallanus lacustris, and Triaenophorus nodulosus) became dominant, representing the limnophilic type of the parasite fauna.
