Abstract—

The paper deals with the application issues of a new structure of the Quaternary Geological System approved recently by the International Commission on Stratigraphy in the practice of geological work in Russia and options for possible changes in the hierarchy of Quaternary subdivisions in the Stratigraphic Code of Russia.
