Abstract

The synthesis of a ZnO:NiO nano-composite via pulsed laser deposition was described in this study. The XRF analysis confirms the presence of ZnO and NiO with a high ratio of concentration Zn and Ni, indicating that the majority of the introduced Zn and Ni was kept in the sample structure without significant loss during the preparation process. A ZnO:NiO nano-composite has been successfully formed, according to the characterization. The mean grain size of the particles was found to be 64 nm according to the AFM picture. SEM images showed that the nano-particles of the ZnO:NiO composites had a spherical shape, with an average particle diameter of 62.37 nm. The band gap of optical energy for NiO:ZnO was 3.57 eV.
