Abstract
The IUPESM Health Technology and Training Task Group (HTTTG) was established in 2006 for the purpose of bringing the expertise of medical physicists and biomedical engineers to address the health needs in develo** countries. Since then, HTTG members have actively contributed to medical physics, biomedical engineering, and global healthcare through various activities – health service evaluation visits in develo** regions; educational and scientific events; collaboration with relevant organizations, especially WHO; support and promotion of projects on technological innovations… Some of them also contributed to the IUPESM/Springer book “Defining the Medical Imaging Requirements for a Rural Health Center”, which, based on the health conditions in those centers, establishes the criteria for the type of medical imaging services that will facilitate patient diagnosis and management. HTTG is eager to continue a pro-active role in the medical physics and biomedical engineering community, following Barry Allen’s vision.
