Correction to: Endocrine (2023) 79:190–199

In, “Residual risks of comorbidities after parathyroidectomy in a nationwide cohort of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism”(Endocrine 2023 Jan;79(1):190–199), some errors were found. The following corrections have been made:

  • In the “Results” section of the Abstract, the sentence “The age-standardized incidence was 10.1/100,000 person-year in 2018, rising from 1.7/100,000 person-year in 2002.” has been corrected to “The age-standardized incidence was 10.1/1,000,000 person-years in 2018, rising from 1.7/1,000,000 person-years in 2002.”

  • In the “Statistical analysis” section of the Materials and methods, the sentence “All incidence rates were reported as the average annual incidence per 100,000 people.” has been corrected to “All incidence rates were reported as the average annual incidence per 1,000,000 people.”

  • In the panel A of the Figure 2 and supplement Figure 3, the legend “Rate per 100,000-year” has been corrected to “Rate per 1,000,000 person-years”

  • In the first paragraph of the Results section, the sentence “The crude and age standardized incidences were 13.2 and 10.1/100,000 person-years in 2018, rising from 1.8 and 1.7/100,000 person-years in 2002 (p < 0.001) (Fig. 2A).” has been corrected to “The crude and age standardized incidences were 13.2 and 10.1/1,000,000 person-years in 2018, rising from 1.8 and 1.7/1,000,000 person-years in 2002, respectively (p < 0.001) (Fig. 2A).”

  • In the first paragraph of the “Discussion” section, the sentence “In this nationwide retrospective cohort study in Korea, the incidence of PHPT patients who underwent parathyroidectomy increased from 1.7 in 2002 to 10.1 per 100,000 person-years in 2018.” has been corrected to sentence “In this nationwide retrospective cohort study in Korea, the incidence of PHPT patients who underwent parathyroidectomy increased from 1.7 in 2002 to 10.1 per 1,000,000 person-years in 2018.”

  • In the second paragraph of the “Discussion” section, the sentence “In addition, the incidence of PHPT in Korea (10.1/100,000 person-years in the present study) was lower than that previously reported in the Caucasian population.” has been corrected to sentence “In addition, the incidence of PHPT in Korea (10.1/1,000,000 person-years in the present study) was lower than that previously reported in the Caucasian population.”
